Experience: Over my four years of high school I gained experience both as a private tutor teaching writing, math, and science, and as a volunteer at my high school's writing center. My students ranged in age from 6 to 18, and a few suffered from ADHD, so I am capable of and enjoy tailoring each tutoring session to the student's individual needs. As a writing center tutor, I edited countless college essays. Rather than merely fixing grammar mistakes and rewriting sentences for my tutees, I always aim to help my students gain proficiency and clarity in their unique writing style, prompting them to amend their essays themselves. I am passionate about learning, teaching, and inspiring, and am eager to share my knowledge with anyone and everyone. I especially enjoy working with children. In addition to tutoring, I volunteer at Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, conducting research experiments on organisms in the aquatic nursery. I am especially passionate about aquatic animals, and aspire to be a veterinary surgeon for marine mammals.
