Mariam E.
Private tutor in Glendale, CA
Education
I graduated high school as the valedictorian of my class. Currently, I am a student at UCLA as a Biology major. My ultimate educational goal is to go to medical school and later practice medicine.
Experience
NOTICE: Currently I only tutor online due to the COVID-19 pandemic Since sophomore year of high school, I have tutored students in various subjects (including geometry, Spanish, and algebra 2) both as volunteer work and as a paid job. Teaching is something I love to do and as a student myself I believe I have a unique insight into what students are looking for in a teacher. I love to learn and as a tutor I want my students to see the value of knowledge and learn how to apply skills from one class to other classes and their daily lives. In addition to tutoring throughout high school I was also involved in various clubs including the Academic Decathlon club which I participated and earned medals all four years. I also had a heavy course load in high school consisting of several honors and AP classes in which I only earned A's and AP scores of 4 or 5.
